Mei Yisi is an unsociable omega who feels that everything and everyone is “uninteresting.” He goes on a blind date as a result of his parents’ pestering. He meets Gu Shi and marries him.

Why is Mei Yisi indifferent about who he marries? Why does he think he will get divorced sooner or later? Will Mei Yisi find this marriage “interesting” enough?

Play on words: The story title is “méi yì si de gù shi” with méi yì si meaning boring; uninteresting. The MC’s name is Mei Yisi, and Yisi means “he thinks.” The name adds a layer of irony/playfulness to the story, given that Mei Yisi is nonchalant about marriage and keeps thinking “we’re going to divorce, anyway.” ML’s name is Gu Shi. So the title can also be read as “Mei Yisi’s Gu Shi.”

没意思(mei yi si, boring) and 梅伊思(Mei Yisi, the MC) sound similar. The author has used word play throughout the story.
